Screaming in High Heels - Review - @BrandonCSites / #Horror

Screaming in High Heels: The Rise & Fall of the Scream Queen Era (2011) **
D: Jason Paul Collum
C: Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, Michelle Bauer, Fred Olen Ray, David DeCoteau, Kenneth J. Hall, Jay Richardson, Richard Gabai, Ted Newsom, Jason Paul Collum
P: Documentary detailing the fall of the drive-in theaters and the raise of VHS and the scream queen era complete with interviews from the era’s three biggest stars – Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead), Brinke Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre) and Michelle Bauer (Nightmare Sisters)

This documentary on the scream queen era of the 80’s and early 90’s is a catch 22. On one hand, it is going to have an automatic appeal for anyone that is a fan of the three scream queens profiled or is feeling nostalgic for some 80's horror. On the other hand, it doesn't really present any new info or insights into the era. Screaming in High Heels really doesn't have much going for it, but it doesn't have much going against it either. It’s one of those films that when people ask you “how was it”, you go “…well, it was short”. [Not Rated] 63 mins.
