Assault of the Sasquatch (2009) **
D: Andrew Gernhard
C: Kevin Shea, Greg Nutcher, Sarah J. Ahearn, Andrea Saenz, Shawn C. Phillips
Plot Synopsis: A hunter catches a deadly Sasquatch, but is arrested before he can transport the beast. With the hunter locked up in jail, the Sasquatch breaks free from confinement after being transported unwittingly by the police to the city where it engages in a deadly rampage.
Review: Assault of the Sasquatch is one of those silly films that shouldn't be token too seriously. Overall production values are low, low, low and the material doesn't break new ground as it recycles elements from various films. However, its energetic and the pacing very rarely lags.
The title Sasquatch is always finding something new to engage himself. Sometimes that involves hand to hand combat with a tough as* secretary. In other scenes, he's ripping limbs, stomping on dogs, or just being a big old perv and looking at a naked woman while they take a shower.
What else can really be said of a movie entitled Assault of the Sasquatch? Viewers looking for depth, social commentary, a biting examination or something with intelligence should definitely pass on this. Those looking for some brainless fun that doesn't require much of the viewer will laugh and have a good time. [Not Rated] 90 mins.
