Cheerleader Massacre - Review - @BrandonCSites / #RogerCorman

Cheerleader Massacre (2003) *
D: Jim Wynorski
C: Tamie Sheffield, Charity Rahmer, Brinke Stevens, Melissa Brasselle
Plot Synopsis: Originally planned as a sequel in The Slumber Party Massacre franchise, Cheerleader Massacre finds a group of cheerleaders, with their coach and some randy guys in tow, stuck in the middle of nowhere when their van brakes down. However, someone has token a special interest in them and is intent on killing everyone off one by one.

Review: In Sorority House Massacre II, which also happened to be directed by Jim Wynorski, a bunch of big breasted sorority girls spend the night in a house that was the home of a serial killer. The girls got naked, drank too much, made a bunch of stupid decisions and then were disposed of one by one. In between, there was an extended flashback sequence from The Slumber Party Massacre. Sorority House Massacre II saw the humor in all of this and sent up the genre successfully.

Cheerleader Massacre pretty much follows the same formula, but unlike Sorority House Massacre II, the tone in Cheerleader Massacre is fairly serious and straight forward. Sorority House Massacre II was a bad film that was bad in all the right ways. Cheerleader Massacre on the other hand is a bad film that's just plain out bad. [R] 81 mins.
