Puppet Master 4 - Review - @BrandonCSites / #CharlesBand

Puppet Master 4 (1993) *1/2
D: Jeff Burr
C: Gordon Currie, Chandra West, Ash Adams, Teresa Hill, Guy Rolfe, Felton Perry, Stacie Randall, Michael Shamus Wiles, Dan Zukovic
P: The killer puppets are re-animated to help battle demons that are after a serum that brings life to the puppets.

REVIEW: With the past entries in this series, the puppets have been the stars. This series has been all about finding creative ways to showcase these little puppets and offering up unique death sequences centered around them. This time around, almost all of the action is centered on just one puppet. Since this entry hangs all of its chips on the unveiling of this new puppet, whether or not this entry succeeds, squarely falls on the shoulders of this new creation.

Unfortunately, the new puppet is rather bland and uninspired. There’s nothing excitingly creative, wonderfully imaginative or gleefully over the top about the new puppet. The new puppet is rather dull and boring. Like the new puppet, the film itself is dull and boring, but, hey, at least its short.

With The Puppet Master films, viewers aren't expecting something on par with The Exorcist. People watch these films to be a part of what is going on with these puppets that they fell in love with. It’s a shame that this entry regulated the stars of the series (the puppets) to being co-stars in their own movie. [R] 79 mins.
