Review: Writing a review for The Final Destination feels rather arbitrary. If you've seen parts 1-3, then you know how part four is going to turn out. It's the same movie, but remade with not one, but two gimmicks!

The first gimmick is that it's in 3-D. Some notable horror films presented in 3-D include Jaws 3, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, My Soul to Take, Shark Night, Silent Hill: Revelation, Texas Chainsaw & Night of the Living Dead 3D. If you're noticing a pattern, it's that horror and 3-D don't have a solid track record, that 3-D was utilized, in an attempt, to camouflage inferior material. The Final Destination is no exception.

The other gimmick is that this entry was touted as the final chapter in the series. Even if I had written this review during its initial release, I could tell you that was a flat out lie. As long as people continue to exist on the Planet Earth, there's always going to be movie characters who cheat death and, thus, they can weasel their way into creating another sequel -or- more accurately, as long as these movies continue to make money, there's going to be an inevitable follow-up.

I wonder. What self respecting person likes to fork over their money knowing, full well, that this is simply a remake of the previous entries? If you do, then dive right on in. Others need not apply. [R] 82 minutes.
